NASFTY Data Insights — Know What Sells as Porn NFTs

When we launched NASFTY, we encouraged all our creators to come up with their own unique concepts for content, and love the creativity you all displayed in doing so!

Now we have something even better — DATA!

Here’s the lowdown on what we’ve learned about what sells as porn NFTs on NASFTY.

Let’s look at two of our most successful creators: PRINCESSLOLA, who was the first person to sell out her entire collection, and FutaBlue, who sold even more NFTs than Lola in the first month after launch.

What have we learned? If you look at Lola’s and Futa’s NFTs, you’ll see that we can distill this down to a few key points:

  • Content sells when it looks like collectibles. That means:
  • Brand it! Give it a border or frame, and a distinctive look — think baseball trading cards (or hockey cards if you’re a Canadian like me!)
  • Sign it! Include your name (and maybe the collection name and the image title) in your content
  • Price it right. The content that sells best right now on Ethereum is priced at 0.1 ETH or more. Some collectors have bought items at low prices and immediately re-listed them for sale at 1 ETH!
  • Remember that Ethereum gas prices can add $50 or more to the collector’s cost, so it doesn’t make sense to price your NFT at $10!
  • But NASFTY also enables you to make NFTs on Polygon, an alternative blockchain with super-low gas prices (currently around ten cents for an NFT buyer). So if your strategy is to sell NFTs in high volume at lower prices, consider choosing Polygon!
  • Think about using a preview image to make unlockables
  • When you use a preview image, your actual content is revealed only to the purchaser, making it more exclusive

If your original content is photos or art that isn’t branded and signed, it’s easy to modify it so that it sells!

Those of you who are comfortable with Photoshop (or GIMP or Krita, which are both free and awesome) will know what to do. And for everyone else who wants a simple, easy tool, I recommend PicMonkey, which makes it super easy to add great-looking borders and titles to your images.

You can also add exclusivity by setting a preview image(which can be a blurred or pixelated version of your content, or anything else of your choice) and make it into an unlockable, so that only the purchaser can see the full content.

Feel free to reach out to me for help or ideas. I’d love to see each and every one of you sell out your entire collection like Lola did!

Love,
